Partner Programme

Overview
For those who wish to provide public speaking training to members of their own community, we recommend starting with a month-long self-guided remote offering that culminates in a series of 3-minute presentations to fellow participants. We will provide the learning resources and treatment protocol for free which can be accessed remotely. You will need to organise/provide the venue for the final event. Groups of up-to-ten work well. Accordingly, the final Presentation Day should be well under an hour.

Programme structure
- Week 1: Participants write their presentations
- Week 2: Participants memorise their script
- Week 3 and 4: Participants train in virtual reality (while following our treatment plan)
- End of Week 4: Graduation Day (where participants present and receive certificates)

Equipment
A participant can access the learning resources and treatment protocol from a computer, tablet, or smartphone. To access the virtual reality training simulations, they can use either a dedicated VR headset, or a smartphone placed inside of a wearable phone holder. We have created a free app to make that possible.

We recommend the organisation provides the wearable phone holders so that the treatment and training is 100% free for the participants. They are widely available online (e.g., 1, 2, 3, 4). We recommend that participants should be able to hire them for free for the entire month. Ideally, you would have an additional resource bank of wearable phone holders for participants to access as and when they need them in the future. This mimics the set-up we put in place at the University of Cambridge. We also recommend that you provide certificates upon completion for each participant.
