iOS VR tutorial

Prior to entering our VR practice stages, see our safety warning.

To view VR content on your phone, you will need a ‘device mount’. They are widely available online.

For the best experience, turn off notifications ("Do Not Disturb" mode) and disable auto-dimming features.

Step 1

Scan or press the relevant QR code below (the QR codes for iOS phones always begin with the prefix "iOS").

Step 2

Calibrate your device.
Press the 'SCAN' button and then scan the calibration code ('Cardboard symbol') that came with your device mount. In most cases, this QR code (the one below) will work. If not, there is a library of calibration codes here.

Step 3
Once calibrated, press the 'ENTER VR' button. You will then see the image below which is indicating that you should rotate your phone sideways - please do so.

If you have any other tabs open, this will prevent you from viewing in full screen mode (due to the tabs and URL bar at the top of the screen). Example below.

To solve this, you could close your other tabs - and then rotate your phone vertically and back horizontally again and this will access full screen mode. Alternatively, if you wanted to keep those tabs, you could greatly minimise the tab and URL bar by enabling "Hide Toolbar" (by pressing the circled buttons in the images below).

Step 4
Once you are in full screen mode or you have enabled 'Hide Toolbar', you can insert your phone into your device mount, and begin viewing in virtual reality.

*Please note, you will only need to calibrate your device once (it will save the settings on your phone). And so, when you access another VR training environment, you can skip “Step 2”.
