Cambridge Public Speaking Programme

If you are a student at the University of Cambridge, you have free access to the Cambridge Public Speaking Programme.

Overview

Over four weeks, you will learn to become a more skilled and confident public speaker.

The programme consists of four main parts:

Part 1: Learn how to write a great presentation

Part 2: Learn how to memorise your presentation

Part 3: Practise in increasingly challenging VR environments

Part 4: Present a short presentation in Cambridge

Over the month-long course, you will be provided with evidence-based strategies to help you overcome speech anxiety as quickly as possible.

At the end, you will receive a certificate.

How much is it? And how do I sign up?

The programme is free and we will supply you with all of the equipment that you need. We have a new cohort every month. To sign up, email VR@lucy.cam.ac.uk

Hear from fellow students

“My baseline confidence in presenting has increased. And it is really useful knowing that I have a tool that I can turn to if I need more confidence again in the future.”
- Rowena Davies, Girton College

“Now when I see a presenting opportunity, I think “Yeah, I’ll sign up to that” because now I know I have the confidence.”
-Toluwalase Agoro, Darwin College

"It is remarkably easy to use. You just pop on the headset and suddenly it feels like you are facing an audience in real life. And most importantly, it works! I have gone from dreading presentations to feeling genuinely prepared and more confident. It is a really powerful tool."
-Tadala Mzengo, Lucy Cavendish College
